Description:
- Single institutions or consortia of institutions are invited to participate in a cooperative interdisciplinary research program for large-scale, broad-scope genomic studies in clinical transplantation, including solid organ, tissue, and cell transplantation.
- In FY 2006, NIAID anticipates awarding a total of $3 million to expand this research program.
- Two to three new awards are anticipated.
- This initiative will be funded using the single project and multi-project Cooperative Agreement (U01 and U19) mechanisms.
- Eligible organizations include for-profit or non-profit organizations; public or private institutions, such as universities, colleges, hospitals, and laboratories; units of State and local government; eligible agencies of the Federal government; and domestic and foreign institutions/organizations.
- Any individual with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research is invited to work with his/her institution to develop an application as the Principal Investigator.
- A Principal Investigator may submit only one application. However, participation of a Principal Investigator as a project leader in multi-project applications (U19 mechanism) is allowed if there is no scientific overlap with the application submitted by the Principal Investigator.
